Sports have always been my biggest passion. Some of my earliest childhood memories were made on the tee-ball or soccer field and I took that interest with me throughout my life. I played sports all throughout high school and have always been very active.

I learned the importance of teamwork, responsibility and commitment through sport and while I knew that I likely wouldn’t become a professional athlete, I wanted to pursue a career where sports could still be at the forefront of my life.

I also always had an affinity for writing. I was very confident in my abilities as a writer growing up and loved my experience working with my student newspaper in high school so when it came time to choose a college major, journalism appeared to be my best option.

My time at San Diego State was incredible as I grew both as a young man and a professional. I completed my first professional internship and also had the privilege of serving as the sports editor for SDSU’s student newspaper. I learned essential journalism practices such as AP Style, interviewing techniques, and how to write different types of articles as well as important life lessons such as the ability to work under pressure and on deadlines, the importance of team camaraderie, and how to manage a team.

While I initially began my career in journalism with sports in mind, I have started to expand my horizons to environmental reporting and other public affairs issues. After growing up in an active household, I love nature and the outdoors and hope I can help preserve and protect the beauty of nature.

As I enter the workforce, I am open to sports journalism and any other communications job opportunities in the San Diego area. I am excited to begin the next chapter of my life!
